Here it is, folks…info about our long anticipated Anniversary Show:

Max Creek's 33nd Anniversary Creekend

Eastover Resort & Conference Center

Lenox, MA

April 23 & 24, 2004

Announcing Max Creek's 32nd anniversary, to be held on our traditional dates of birth, the last Friday & Saturday in April.  And since we've been doing this for so incredibly long, we figured we deserve a weekend away. Through the efforts of good friend Rev. Tor, we discovered Eastover Resort in Lenox, a beautiful, sprawling former estate not too far North of Lee, Mass.  Eastover has an ownership & staff that seems to be like-minded with the philosophies of Max Creek and constituency: awareness, discovery, and the enjoyment of life, good art & good music.  Everyone is looking forward to a great event.

Here are details that you might need to know about the weekend:

Max Creek will be performing indoors, in "Tally Ho", the performance building of the resort.  Like its name implies, it used to be the stable of the estate; but the inside bears a remarkable resemblance to Woody's Roadhouse, which used to be one of our favorite places to play.  Capacity will be somewhere between 600 & 800, depending upon our set-up, the resort & the powers that be.  Therefore we suggest you get your tickets early, as there may not be any left for sale at the door.  Performances will be on both Friday & Saturday, with Creek playing from 10 PM to 1:30 both nights.  On Saturday, Reverend Tor Band will open, beginning at somewhere around 8 PM.

Ticket prices for the performance are $17.00 either night, or $30.00 both nights.

Eastover has accommodations on site.  For this event, there are probably only 300-325 beds available.  There are two types of rooms, and the main difference is the number of beds and/or the inclusion of a private bathroom.  All relevant meals are included in the price of accommodation (dinner the night of, and breakfast/brunch the morning after).

Prices to stay there are:

Premium rooms: $70.00 per night per person for 1 night stay

Or

$65.00 per night per person for 2 night stay.

Non-premium (Dorm-style or shared bath): $60.00 per night per person for 1 night stay

Or

$55.00 per night per person for 2 night stay.

For reservations: Eastover Resort: 1-800-822-2386

Staying at the resort has some pretty cool benefits.  You get to partake of the amenities that the resort has to offer: indoor and outdoor Olympic-size pools.  Fill your soda and juice glass from any machine at any time.  Feed the buffalo in the buffalo field.  Try horseback riding (extra charge) and more.  Information about the resort can be had at the Eastover.com.

PLUS, for those that stay there, there will be late-night performances by friends, special guests, members and former members, after the Creek's performance on Friday and during the afternoon on Saturday in the "Red Room" (hmm…) an intimate recreation area downstairs in the main building. Pool tables etc. there too.

If you reserve accommodations at Eastover, you must also purchase tickets to Max Creek's performance through them. They will add the price of the ticket onto their charge.

If you're there for the Max Creek show only, or choose not to stay at Eastover, there are some relatively inexpensive motels in the area.  Eastover won't sell tickets in that case and you'll have to get them as follows:

Phone order tickets to Max Creek's performance will be available through Wormtown Trading (508-753-8882).  Credit cards cool.

Tickets in person available through Wormtown Trading in Worcester, MA; the Trading Post in Canton, CT, or at a Max Creek or Reverend Tor Show.  Some of these outlets may run out as time goes on, but we'll do our best to keep things current.  Stay tuned on line, and we'll also let you know if there are any tickets left for walk-up.

Some other relevant facts:

Eastover advertises itself as a BYO resort. BUT for Max Creek's performance in Tally Ho (which is 18+) there will be a cash bar available, and no other alcohol will be permitted in that building. There'll be some food available there as well.  Also, please don't bring liquor to the weekend if you're not 21+.

If you're not staying there, whatever you do, don't drive away if you're above .08.

.

The Creek performance, as we stated above, is 18+. Although the resort is, and can be, a family affair, we suggest that if you can get a babysitter for the weekend, please do.

Eastover ownership and staff are very cool. Please be kind & considerate to them and to each other.  This is a great place, and we'd like to keep a return a possibility.
