KNOW YOUR DOPE FIEND. YOUR LIFE MAY DEPEND ON IT! You will not be able to see his eyes because of his Tea-shades, but his knuckles will be white from inner tension and his pants will be crusted with semin from constantly jacking off when he cannot find a rape victim. He will stagger and babble when questioned. He will not respect your badge. The Dope Fiend fears nothing. BEWARE!!! Any officer apprehenhing a suspected marijuana addict should use all necessary force immediatly. One stick in time(on him) will usually save nine (on you). Good luck, The CHIEF

crlgrl... there's nothing you can do about it. I've gotten that message. Try to have the person who sent it to you Zip it again with a new version if possible. There's no way (that I know of... someone tell me if there is) to open that file. You might want to check the version of your program too. Sometimes an older version program trying to open a file created by a newer version will be a problem. That's my take on the subject. Good luck and let me know if you figure it out. I often run into that problem and this what I have been told.

Hey Dr. Bubba. Where you been? I finally caught the original "To The Sea" on mp3. What a beautiful song it is. and what great music you all play. Murawski hit the nail on the head in his quote... "there are very few, i think, who stand up in front of people and open themselves up for all to see...Kris does that... it gives me faith... it restores faith in myself... it is what the definition of music should be... the ancient language that exposes the heart..." I hope I get to hear you play it live some day. That song really hit's home for me. Especially being way out here on the bay... watching the sunsets at the end of my day. Thanks for the inspiration... and the faith.

...so there's a big burly truck driver sittin' in a bar one night and this beautiful woman walks up to him and asks him if he wants to have sex, yes it's a common thing, I know, but anyway, the guy says "Sure, but I've gotta warn you, I'm a virgin, my mom always told me that you guys have teeth down there and that you could bite off my wang." "Well I promise I won't bite." ...so they go back to his house and she strips down in front of him and says, "See, no teeth" "Well with gums like that I don't see how you could!"...

If people didn't add so much damn laxitive to their treats the bathrooms might have been a little better. I always pee outside. Those little camp showers are the way to go.Also the water there didn't smell so sweet either. Thinking about camp Creek makes me feel all warm and fussy.

So, durng a break at a Creek show Salty and his band start playing on the floor and the members of Creek stay on the stage and head bang and twirl dance and spill beer all over the place. Rob gets so excited he jumps all over his kit and stomps it into the ground. Scott A sticks his head through his big bass drum. Rider makes funny faces at Salties band. mark jumps up on his keyboard and starts dancing like Snoopy on Shroders piano. Scott M leans his head back in a state of bliss with his eys closed then yells "Hey that was weak! Don`t you boys know any Nice songs" Costa starts laughng so hard he falls off the stage and Eric catches him in his arms and pushes through crowd on a mission of his own carring Costa. Linda takes out a lighter and lites it and holds it over her head calling for one more tune. Steve stands at the sound board with great fluffy ear muffs on his head smileing and everyone. The thing is EVERYONE is in salties band called the "I Love You Alls"
I can see it now.......

Is it a manual trany, maybe Stan's not dead?... sk, we went to see Flipper Brett and friends last night in Avon. Scotty A. sat in on some drums. and some guy from Diamondback (Luskie?) sat in for some Allman Bros jams. Anyway, your buddy Paulie was there. He's a nice guy. Makes me wonder why he hangs out with you. (just kiddin') it rocked, we thought we'd be home early, but it jammed so good that we stayed til the end. I'll see some of you at Gemini's on Friday. The thoughts of trying to get through the Berkshires and the very delayed drive to Rochester made us turn around. Never made it there. Hey Derek, I know exactly how you feel. Her name was Althea. A Grey 1978 Chevy Blazer 4X4. She was the love of my life. My last big trip in her was 1998 Furthur Fest. Yeah I probably spent a grand in gas to feed her that summer, but she was my girl. I only went as far the Colorado show because the scene was getting rough and the next show was Vegas (rumored to reach highs above 115 degrees). I had no AC and a dog (which is another story for another time). So I went South towards NM. She wasn't even tuned to the high altitudes but she conquered the rockies, sometimes not exceeding 15 mph. I had a few minor complications with her, but she got me there and finally, back home. Then, believe it or not she shit the bed on the way back from the Room. I drove 35 miles not exceeding 10 mph because I was in the middle of no where. Hence, I laid her to rest at some garage in Ashford on 44. I need a tissue, I think I'm gonna cry...

Ever love a car, or come as close as you can to loving a mere machine? It's near the end of the line for my beaten van, who we call Stan. Some of you know Stan, by name or by the goofy vision of me at his wheel. Stan carried Carolyn and I from Maine to the deserts of the Southwest, up and down the coast of California, to Seattle, Montana, across Texas the longway, through the deep South, the burly hills of San Francisco, the mean streets of New York City; he got me safely to and home from quite a number of Creek shows, including a Camp and Sterling Stage twice, and recently the New Years show. I've slept in him, cooked in his open tailgate, and smoked untold amounts of ganja while gazing out at thousands of miles of the fabled American highway over his steering wheel, listening (always) to my favorite music. Now like a stubborn old trooper he'll only go weakly forward ...he lost his reverse today. Like a good friend, he (at least) didn't fail me in dire straits or on a dangerous highway. He's too old to invest in a transmission, so this is the end of the line, the end of an era for me. Ever love a car?

HEY SALTY, we should seriously do this just for the hell of it. Get some of the regulars who can play, pick some standards that everyone knows and just see what happens. Purely spontaneous. Even if it sucked it would be fun. Phil's Farm would be the perfect place to launch it. Maybe between sets or more likely at the Sinatra Lounge (wicked latenight). Start assembling the musicians, I'm up for the drums. On a different note I'll save your spot up front at Water Street, even if you don't show up its how it should be. Rochester has already started priming for Friday night. YEA!!!!!!!!

The Willow Tree mp3 that John posted is not just a plain old soundboard recording but a fully mixed version from the same multi-track masters that the Spring Water album comes from. This track was mixed for inclusion on the album, but in the end was left off due to space constraints. If you already have the album, this mp3 is a must have to complete your set. This was the only fully mixed song that was not included on the cd. Let's see if we can get this track into the top ten charts on mp3.com! Go download it now!

well, i was having a pretty crappy day at work today....when i received a phone call from someone i worked with in cali....i haven't heard from her in a while, so it instantly made my day a little brighter....when i went out for my lunch break (3:30 my usual lunchtime~a whole 'nuther story) i ended up in borders looking at the new relix and happened across a KILLER picture of the boys from the Gathering of the Vibes. : ) : ) Looking at the picture I remembered how much fun we had that weekend...music leaped into my ears and the shitty day that i was under moved out! Then, the sunset was FANTASTIC! The sky became half pinkish orange, quarter blue, top quarter white gray. Hope some of you freaks saw it, too! A marvelous way to begin the night! Have a good one y'all! I want to thank you for lettin me be mice elf, again.....

Sufi Zero broke up (although they still have an occasional gig) just as they were gaining a larger audience after 14 years! steve got the call for the other ones and Zero had to cancel Several dates never really to pick up and gain full force momentum ever again. steve stated in interviews that zero did not challenge him in new musical ways and had been coughing up blood for over 10 years(no financial sucess)later he mentioned that having 4 people in Kvhw was more profitable and encouraging to keep on the road as opposed to the 6 in zero. 1998 saw Zero's last major tour in april of 1999 they had the "breakup shows" at the maritime in the city, keyboardist chip roland quit the band and posted his decision and explantation on the Zero mail list online...several months later Zero reformed with chip roland!!! for dates in oregon including the country fair but they were minus vocalist judge murphy who moved to hawaii....Good grief charlie brown hope that fills you in sistah! (btw Jerry called kimock his favorite "unknown" guitarist in 1988! let me know if you need any zero tapes!)

It is just a fact of life get use to it. My hope is that we do not get them same old, same old. Play us something special, something not played in a while if thats possible. Whatever the weather we will have a ball. Rochester has many, many, many Creekfreeks. You know because you have seen us every where!! RC

Well, as is typical for Crapchester NY at this time of year the weather forcast for friday looks pretty crappy at this time. At the present the forcast is for snow on thurs and snow showers on fri, whatever that means? I sure hope Scotty Ski can break with tradition and make an earlier flight. Actually it would be even better if the unusually non-snowy winter could hold till after the Creekend. Anywho, It will be a hoot to Party to some excellent tunes for a change. Also, they have revamped the WaterStreetBoogieWarehose and that will be interesting to see as too. See yall there and please drive safely? Peaceout JJ

I think a good band for Camp would be the soon to be forming "Salty Dog Project". I'm sure we can piece together a bunch of musicians who know some standard tunes, and with Salty fronting the band it will be all good. If it doesn't happen at Camp then the ultimate place for it is....thats right Phil's Farm, latenight. That rock definatly wouldn't stop. Western NY Creek Weekends rule. You New Englanders should make the trek sometime, you know it would be more than worth it. Later.

Hey Mike from San Diego (aka Moe) sorry to hear you did not enjoy your self on NYE... I've known you for many years now and know you've seen your fair share of shows, (real bumming i didn't see ya there, it's been awhile for sure), but the band and alot of other folks put ALOT of work into that show and i think it was just AWESOME!!!
I also feel you have no right to say that about John, since that is the furtherest from the truth. Maybe you need to hear the tape (get in touch with me, i've got a spare already spun), and think you may have some other problems/issues here. And if you do, get in touch with me, it would be good to hear from ya again. I know NYE for me was a very special night, and not just cause of the music, but more for who you spend it with (although the music did kick butt that night).
Sorry to have missed ya and hope to see ya soon.

Im pissed off, I spent so much money! Well boo f-in who MOE! If you knew the first thing about CREEK, you would know that you cant buy the hype. Its the free, unpublisized shows that are the best! Did you really think that NYE would be the best CREEK show ever? And you are right they did bust out at Lupos. The reason is because at shows like Lupos, they play for the crowd, the real creek freeks who go week after week, they no that people arent gonna goto Lupos just because theres nothin else to do(like NYE) Sorry if you werent buzzed enough...thats pretty sad! But guess what MOE, wait a year or two, and CREEK just might come out yer way, and you can be as pissed off as you want to be! Until then listen to your Creek bootlegs and dream of what you couldve boughten if you didnt fly in for NYE!

HIYA ALL!!!, hey Moe, don't be such a shmoe. It sounds to me like YOU were the grumpy one. Not the band! You are the ONLY person that has posted ANYTHING negative about new years. For me, it was absolutly the BEST new years I've EVER had!! The music was also TOP NOTCH!! They played for four and a half hours for God's sake!! What more do you wan't? I guess you can't please everyone but COME ON!!! THE ROCK DIDN'T STOP!!! Then or ever!! Perhaps a nice lap-dance from our own SK will lighten your mood and tighten your pants. It always helps Sufi, Melissa and Martha....am I right ladies? For me it goes MUCH deeper than the music....am I right ladies?? HA HA HAAAAA!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Even you Moe...damn whiner!

Ok I can't let sk fly solo on this one: Moe, sorry, but if you think New Year's was boring, a cold was the least of your problems. And when was the quality of your buzz ever the deciding factor of how good the music is..If you have an opinion, that's great, you're entitled to one, but don't EVER capitalize it again! I'm not interested, nor is anyone else here interested in your capitalized opinion. Sorry, you had a bad time New Year's Eve, but I and many others had a great time, and will continue to have a great time. Obviously, it is about time you drop the headphones, as they blair the likes of Barry Mannilow into your skull. If that setlist was shit, I wanna see you on stage next year with your band from Cali try to even come close to that orgasm of music.

this guy moe is too much, i'm a tough critic when it comes to music, and i went to 1/2 of the creek shows last year (that's 35) and i walked away saying they were great most of the time, including new years, i thought maybe half a dozen shows i saw last year were not great, that's a high percentage, and maggie/melissa, i thought that y. moon was wonderful too!!!

Glenith, didn't you know. This week creek is on the road @ Rochester, and they're always tough, but Murawski is pitching so creek has a good chance for another win.
